Hash table seen script 1.0 for mIRC > 5.4 by Kamel
-----------------------------------------

!!! NOTE: This script is released under the GNU/GPL copyleft laws. For more information, please visit http://www.gnu.org

Installation:
Unzip the file to your mirc directory. I suggest in a directory such as C:\mIRC\Addons\Seen
While in mIRC, in any window, type /load -rs Addons\Seen\hashseen.mrc (respectively)

Usage:
!seen (who)

Version:
1.1 on 10/19/04 (almost exactly 2 years, how ironic), The script got a good fixer-upper which fixed some of the more evident bugs of the previous version. Also, the code has been made a bit smaller, and events are no longer recorded for +s channels.
1.0 on 10/27/02, This is the first script I have ever submitted before. I have never felt that my work was ever good enough to actually submit, and to be honest, I wasn't entirely sure of this one. I know people are gonna bitch, but I guess that is going to happen no matter what you submit really.

Known Bugs:
If mIRC crashes, it will loose the seen database up untill the last time it saved. It should automatically do this every 5 minutes, but then again, thats in a perfect world.
The script is completely memory resident, and after about a years worth of seen databases, i'm sure that this seen script's database could have an impact on memory usage. If this bothers you, just periodically delete seen.htb in your mirc directory before loading mIRC.
If 2 people on 2 seperate networks have the same name... it will see them both as the same person, this is intentional - because i wanted the person to see the last time it saw the person, even if it is on a different network. Depending on how people like this (good or bad), I may change that in a future update (that is... assuming there are any)

About Me:
As I said before, This is my first script ever to release. I have been scripting for a lil over a year now... I've learned a lot in my experiances, but I can gladly say that i learned almost all of it on my own. Greetz to all the people who have made scripts and tutorials though, those help a ton.
My aliases are Kamel and DiSTOKMURe` (or just DiSTOKMUR, or DiSTOk, depending on how long maximum is for that network)

MSN: squishey_8869@hotmail.com
website: http://ed209bot.info or http://ed209.mirrorz.com - this is a website dedicated to my upcomming bot, Ed209. It also provides up to date contact information for me, should it be different than stated in this readme.

Other:
I'm a dedicated person, and I hate seeing other people go through the hell I had to go through in order to learn the small amount that I "do" know. So, in return. I teach personal lessons, and I offer mentoring to those trying to learn. I am looking for some sort of scripting team, I've always hated being the only one who was working on my bots and stuff.

Other Releases to look forward to:
Ed209 - This is an AWESOME bot I have been making for quite some time now. Here is a list of some of it's distinguishing features:
- A completely independant user system that works very similar to nickserv.
- A CNN reporting system. Not only does it report the latest news to the channel, but it also gives a link, and has an option for the user to see a list of the top stories. This script is going to be very much so developed.
- A trivia option "might" be implimented, I am debating on wether I should waste my time or not (how common are trivia bots now a days? =\)
- A list of super users.... known as "bot ops", you can think of these as sortof the "ircops" of the bot.
- ALL passwords are encrypted into MD5 format, and then a comparison is used, for the best protection
- An automated password recovery system
- MemoServ-like functionality
- This seen script, the most detailed seen script I have personally seen to-date.
- A wildcard capable opping/deopping/kicking/banning system
- Protected user list
- Blacklist for each channel...
- Totally multiple network and multiple channel supported.

Greetz:
A big thanks to all of those who are good scripters and keep things clean. Scripts should be made to be easily manipulated, so that others can learn from them.
Last, but not least, thanks to all of the people who actually read this readme file, I hardly ever do that myself (unless I thuroughly enjoyed the product and wanted to learn more, which I hope is the case, lol). Anyone who actually thinks I did a good job on this.

Birds:
I would like to flip everyone out there the bird who rip scripts, who make scripts that advertise the users all to hell and back, and to all of the people who think that mIRC scripting isnt powerful - mIRC scripting is only as powerfull as the scripter is.
Also, a BIG bird goes out to all of those who think they are better than everyone else... You know who you are, and if you don't.... well, either way, it doesnt really matter, no one is gonna read this.
A big bird also goes out to all of those who have problems with my script. I didn't technically write this script for the seen script, I mean.... why the hell does a seen script have to be fast anyways? It doesn't - and I'm aware of this, I just made this script because it was something that hadn't been done before (that i'm aware of), and I was using it (mainly) to learn hash tables better, maybe even help someone else learn them by inspecting my script, addon, whatever the hell you call it.

Sorry for making this readme file so large, I personally never read these damned things unless I'm forced to, so I really don't expect anything more from you. If you have read all the way to this point, wow - I'm impressed, you deserve a cookie :), lol.
